Training
- Dr. Simon D. Marian, D.O., is an osteopathic physician licensed in the commonwealth of Virginia, with a background in internal medicine, primary care, and urgent care medicine. He is a graduate of Pensacola Christian College (B.S. in Biology, 2015) and Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (2021). While in the U.S. Navy, he completed his internal medicine internship at Naval Medical Readiness Training Command (NMRTC) Portsmouth in 2022.
Physician Experience
- During Dr. Marian’s career in the U.S. Navy, he served as a senior medical officer on board the USS Portland in San Diego, California, where he led a health department consisting of 16 staff that provided primary and urgent care services for the sailors and officers on board. During his last tour in the Navy in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Marian supervised more than 15 physician extenders on board U.S. Navy ships in the Atlantic fleet and helped to provide primary care to over 2,500 sailors and officers. Outside of the Navy, he also worked as an urgent care physician for Patient First, in southeastern Virginia.
Philosophy
-
Dr. Marian has a passion for high quality, patient-centered care that is affordable and easily accessible. He practices “holistic medicine”, which involves much more than “just another prescription”, and aims to find the root causes of disease. This type of medicine is a deliberate and methodical way of practicing and represents a return to a more traditional way of delivering medical care. Dr. Marian firmly believes the best model for delivering this type of care is the “direct primary care” model, because it fully restores the doctor-patient relationship and removes much of the bloated bureaucracy out of medicine.
Interests
- Faith. Dr. Marian is a Christ-follower and his faith in Jesus Christ dictates how he views his patients: as made in the image of God, with intrinsic value, dignity, and uniqueness.
- Family. Dr. Marian is married to his beautiful wife Emma and they have two little boys, Georgie and Freddie, with another boy on the way (Arthur, due in March 2026)! He loves spending time with his family and extended family, and that is usually what he’s up to on the weekends!
- Intellectual life. Dr. Marian loves reading books about medicine, theology, philosophy, and politics and having robust conversations!
- Athletics. Dr. Marian loves to swim, play tennis, soccer, and he *tries* to play golf. Pickleball is the newest obsession.
- Antique shopping. Together with his wife Emma, Dr. Marian loves to spend hours in an antique store looking for beautiful (and hopefully, on sale) items for the home and office.
